TDLR; This is a long post but the headline is I’m pausing all my participation in DJing and Latin Dance Event Organizing for the foreseeable future. It’s been a long journey to come to this decision, but it feels like the right thing for me now. Don’t worry I’ll still be around going back to my roots of social dancing for fun and making great playlists! That’s what brings me the most joy and aligns with my desired lifestyle.

I’ve made this decision because I have higher priorities than DJing/Events that are worth my attention, more specifically my growing tech business, my relationship (long distance), and my health (training for an Ironman). The older I get, the more it’s important to me to focus on fewer more important things.

My side quest DJing and organizing was tremendously fruitful! I DJed probably 100 events to big crowds and small, sharing my love for music with my community! I cared a lot and put in a lot of effort, hopefully that showed. Organizing The Peoples Social with by best friends was an awesome experience too, we learned a ton, and I think we changed what people thought socials are and could be. By and large, I’ve achieved the goals I set around DJing/Events Organizing and I’m ready for new adventures.

Even though I don’t plan to DJ or Organize, I still love music. That’s why I’m focusing on making more instrumental focus playlists to help people engage in their work and get into their most productive flow. I’ll be keeping this account alive and post monthly focus flow playlists that help people focus and achieve their goals!

One day I may go back to DJing and Event Organizing, and I will do so with intention and love. Until that day… I’ll still be right here ✌🏽

🥹❤️🇪🇬 It’s been an amazing 2.5 week solo trip across Egypt, exploring the immense history and warm people of this amazing country. Spending Ramadan in the “city of a thousand minarets” (Cairo)🕌, drinking Shay with my 7 year old seatmate on the train🫖, diving in the Red Sea🤿, cruising down the Nile in style and so so much more🎩. I’m deeply thankful and humbled to explore the world, it truly is a dream of mine to come to Egypt, and I’m so happy to have done it. I strongly encourage others to go, it’s a beautiful country with beautiful people 🇪🇬

⚡️❤️🥹 Another magic year at the reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and seeing creativity thrive in the depths of the Chicago winter 🥶❄️ . I had the unique pleasure of managing all the music for the evening shows, doing my first prime time Bachata set🔥, and dancing a ton. I love to see my chosen city thrive, this weekend the Chicago salsa community was at its best🧨. I’m thankful for this event because it brings in such talented artists that inspire, rejuvenate, and level up our local community. Huge shoutout to for the opportunity and keeping everything running smoothly 🫡 See you next year for the 25th anniversary‼️‼️‼️

🔥🥶❤️ Next weekend is a continuation of the LONGEST CONTINUOUSLY RUNNING SALSA CONGRESS IN THE WORLD, the . It’s always spectacular, with a gala style event filled with class, high caliber talent, and joy for the dancers. I’ll be DJing all weekend, hope to see you there!

🥹❤️🙏🏽 Last night at .peoples.social was pure magic. I’m really proud we’re using this social to elevate and showcase the amazing talent we have right here in Chicago and the Midwest. This was a multifaceted event, filled with magic moments, genuine connection, and lots of sweat in the darkest time of the Chicago winter.🥶

We did a new thing by bringing to play live music🎷🪈 with the DJ while people danced, this was a hit🤩! This is a testament not only to Fredy’s skill, but also an underlying desire to bring musicians and dancers closer together. We had debut an amazing new piece, it was cool to see developing dancers inspired in real time by the technicality and swag of this group. We also had perform and light up the house, this group is boldly forging their own unique path and they are already one of the best in my humble opinion. We also had and teach an awesome lesson at the beginning. These two are great professionals who bring fun and fundamentals together for their students.

Last but not least, DJ was 🔥🧨🔥🧨. Not only is he a great DJ on multiple dimensions, but he’s also a chill guy that cares about bringing only the best whenever he plays.
