9th Oct 2023, 577th Anniversary of Hangul Proclamation Day

We meet many Polish people who is studying Korean in Poland. We also see a lot of people around the world singing along to K-pop songs with Korean lyrics. We once again express our gratitude to King Sejong the Great, who created Hangul.

King Sejong the Great created Hunminjeongeum, our unique alphabet, in 1443. The meaning of Hunminjeongeum is "the right sound that teaches people."

In 2021, 26 Korean words were listed in the Oxford English Dictionary. This is a case where words that are used globally in the Korean language are listed in the English dictionary and include 불고기(bulgogi), 한복(hanbok), 만화(manhwa), 대박(daebak), 오빠(oppa), etc.

Our last party in Krakow💜

We are not having a Halloween party this year. About a year ago, 159 young people walking down the street lost their lives. But so far no one has taken that responsibility. A few days ago, the Itaewon special law for truth-finding was initiated by the Korean National Assembly. We hope that the day will come soon when the truth will be revealed to those who passed away and their bereaved families. We ‘천천히‘ will be with them.

We know there will be Halloween K-pop parties in Poland. However, we will not proceed with an event that reminds us of the moment that gave Koreans pain for our pleasure. Please understand the sadness that Koreans have. Instead, we will have a different themed party. Please write the theme you want in the comments, and we will conduct a new party by collecting your opinions as much as possible.

We would like to express our sincere condolences to the victims of the Itaewon disaster and their bereaved families.

Introduce Korean place ‘북촌‘

If you go to Korea, be sure to visit this place✈️

Bukchon is located between Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and Jongmyo Shrine, and is a representative traditional residential area in Seoul where traditional hanok are concentrated. In addition, it is also called the Street Museum in the city center because there are many historical sites, cultural properties, and folk materials. Called 북촌 ”North Village," which means the upper neighborhood of Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno, there are also friendly Gahoe-dong, Songhyeon-dong, Anguk-dong, and Samcheong-dong. In Sagan-dong, Gye-dong, Sogyeok-dong, and Jae-dong, traces of history remain as the names of the neighborhoods and have been preserved for hundreds of years. By the end of the Joseon Dynasty, large-scale land was divided into small-scale housing sites for social and economic reasons, and it is estimated that the shoulder-to-shoulder hanok that can be seen now was transformed around 1930. This change in the hanok type reflected the social situation of becoming denser due to the population rushing into the city center. The relics and cultural properties from the Joseon Dynasty to the modern era tell the history of the area to visitors💜
