Triglav - Slavic LARP

Triglav - a Slavic Tale is a new series that'll allow players to take part in a meeting of three tribes to trade, envy, quarrel, promise, misunderstand, love, betray… There has to be a place and time to set things straight – one way or another!

Vast seas of grass cover the southeastern plains, cut by mighty rivers and deep woodlands; it's a moderate realm blessed by Mother Mokosh herself. So are the people who live there. They inhabit sporadic towns strung across the emptiness. Those islands of civilisation are surrounded by endless fields, taking advantage of almost magically fertile soil.

Those who live here are blessed by Mokosh, the Mother Goddess and Giver of Life. She is a loving deity but whimsical, like the weather. Her people learned to be adaptable and united in the face of change, just as Mokosh changes with each season.

Central Europe's vast forests and meadows connect all other parts of the known world, so all who wish to travel by land must cross them. And so they who live on the crossroads learned to take advantage of this, growing rich from those travellers. They would build many great towns and cities, surrounded by sturdy motte, bailey, and vast seas of golden wheat.

Beholden to Weles, the God of the Underworld and Wealth, they understand that riches and blood often go hand in hand and that everything has a price to pay. This makes them humble on the outside, polite even but ruthless in pursuing their goals.

The Carpathian Mountains, cut by many great rivers, are challenging to settle. Thus, people who call them home must be strong and resilient. Forced to fight with many neighbours, they have been forged in the fires of war and hardened by the cutting mountain storms.

The Moymir's Kin live close to the thunderous heavens and are guided by Perun, the God of War and Thunder, who wields a mighty axe. However, just as he hurls lightning, Perun also sends life-giving rain. And so his people are well aware that renewal follows every hardship.

Showing bravery is essential in this world. Wealth often comes from raids or conquests. Yet, there is always a place for a silver-tongued diplomat with a great mind.

The children of Sviatoslava are led by an old and wise ruler, grandfather to his people. He is famous for his manners and soft words; some even call him timid. Despite that, he leads the Tribe with confidence and great foresight. Over the years, none have managed to challenge him, for kind words can hide many daggers.

Apart from everyday management and judiciary, the knyazis are also the showcase of their tribes. Hard to find wealthier than one of the Heirs of Popyel.

Experienced, stoic and balanced. He stands as an exemplar of his Tribe.

Each tribe is headed by a knyaz (kniaź, knez), which roughly translates to prince or duke.

The young leader of Moymir’s Kin has his eyes set on the battlefield. He commands warriors with natural ease while being much less interested in politics. His world is one of bloodshed and glory, while the bickering of diplomacy can be left to his beloved grandmother.
