Is it safe and ethically correct to visit Poland and why the answer is 'YES' ⁉️
For the last two years we have been fighting for survival. Just like the entire tourism & meetings industry all over the world. A month ago we would say we made it and it looks like better days are coming again. Today we know a new battle for survival just begins.
We are where we are and let's say it loud: Poland is heavily affected by the Russian invasion in Ukraine. The international tourism & meetings industry is struggling again as we receive more and more cancelations. One can say it's nothing in comparison to the horror our neighbors are living out. Fully agree but let's go deeper. More than 2 million Ukrainian refugees have crossed into Poland within three weeks! For us the most important thing is to help as much as we can. Nobody is thinking about the costs no matter the economic situation we face. We can't and we don't want to stop helping. We know it's a marathon and not a sprint. But we need strong support!
▪️Is it safe to travel to Poland ❓
Yes it is! Nothing has changed here. Are you afraid of thousands of refugees on the streets? You will not find them. Why? Because we have hosted our friends at our houses, hotels, offices and taken care of them as it was the only right thing to do.
▪️Is it ethically correct to travel to Poland and why the answer is 'YES'❓
We will tell you why. One might think it's not right to travel for pleasure to Poland currently. Please think once again and try to see it this way: your decision to travel might be the best way to support as in helping our Ukrainian friends. There is lack of staff everywhere due to the covid pandemic and many, many entrepreneurs at the hotels, restaurants, agencies etc. are ready to hire. However if all the trips to Poland are canceled and you decide to stay home or travel elsewhere, we will not only be unable to help but will be the one who need help.
Let's keep helping by doing what we know best! That's what we're currently trying to do on a workshop in Germany organized by Małopolska Organizacja Turystyczna.
