RAW & REAL PART 5.
After traveling from Swat to Kalam, we continued our journey towards Utror. Along the way, we came across a powerhouse where electricity was being generated. Right next to it was an abandoned hotel that had been severely damaged and destroyed by the floods.
The hotel was in terrible condition. Its stairs were damaged, parts of the structure had collapsed, and the entire place had been left abandoned after the floods. Since it was already getting late, we decided to explore the building and see if we could find a safe place to spend the night.
Inside, we found an empty room, but it was extremely dirty and in poor condition. With no better option available, we cleaned up a small area, arranged our belongings, set up our tent, and decided to spend the night there.
We also cooked our dinner at the spot and had our meal together. But once it got completely dark, the atmosphere of the abandoned hotel became seriously creepy. The entire place had a strange and unsettling vibe, almost like something was watching us. It genuinely felt like the kind of place where you would expect a horror story to begin.
We somehow managed to stay there through the night, but we barely got two or three hours of sleep. The atmosphere was too uncomfortable and scary to properly relax.
The next morning, we packed everything, got ready, and continued our journey towards our next destination, the beautiful Kundol Lake.
And from here, the real adventure begins.

Saidpur Village, where history meets the beauty of the Margalla Hills. 🏛️🌿

Saidpur Village is one of Islamabad's oldest and most historic settlements, with a history dating back nearly 500 years. Nestled at the foothills of the Margalla Hills, this village beautifully blends history, culture, and natural scenery.

Over the centuries, Saidpur was home to Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs, who lived together in the same community. The village still preserves its historic mosque, Hindu temple, and Sikh gurdwara, reflecting its rich multicultural heritage. During the Mughal era, the village gained prominence and later became an important cultural landmark.

Today, Saidpur Village has been carefully restored, offering visitors a unique experience where traditional architecture meets modern cafés and restaurants. Walking through its narrow stone streets feels like stepping back in time, making it one of Islamabad's most popular tourist attractions.

Whether you're interested in history, photography, local culture, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Margalla Hills, Saidpur Village is a place that tells the story of Pakistan's diverse past while welcoming visitors in the present.

RAW AND REAL.
Day 1 of our journey started from Islamabad as we made our way towards Swat. Instead of using private transport, we decided to experience the journey through local transportation, which made the trip even more interesting.

From Saidu Sharif, Swat, we took a local vehicle towards Kalam. After reaching Kalam, we hired a local vehicle for around PKR 6,500, which took us from Kalam to Utror. The vehicle dropped us a little ahead of Utror Bazaar, where our actual adventure began.

By the time we reached Utror, it was already evening and Maghrib had passed. We decided to hike a little further instead of stopping there. We continued our trek alongside the flowing water, but as darkness completely took over, continuing the hike became difficult.

We then decided to set up camp wherever we could find a safe place to spend the night. While looking around, we came across a power house with an abandoned hotel nearby. The hotel had been under construction but was severely damaged by the floods. The building was left incomplete, its foundations and structure had been disturbed, and the entire place was completely empty.

With no proper campsite around and darkness all around us, we decided to stay there for the night.

And that became our first night of the journey.
