After the car accident, my Taya (his eldest brother) came to our place to ask about his health. I had recently started photography as a profession as it is my passion. The conversation soon led to my photography and he said "yeh tawaifon walay kaam hain." (This work is that of prostitutes) and then started abusing me, there even came a point when he raised his hand moving forward to hit me and my mother intervened. I was shocked. My father was sitting nearby and this was the first time that he was unable to say anything. I couldn't understand why papa is staying quiet. Why is he not supporting me, nor saying something on my behalf as he always supported me and my photography? When they left, I was angry with papa and asked him why he didn't take any stand. I remember that he didn’t say anything in reply. His face was apologetic and sad and he had tears in his eyes. I regret it. I regret my anger at the time. If only I had known that he had a ticking bomb inside his head.
