Recently, Catwalk were approached by a new brand Shurooq in Dec 2025 to create a unique and impactful concept for showcasing their bridal collection at BCW.

We rooted the idea in a powerful social reality of Pakistan: nearly 60% of women who graduate eventually become brides, yet many are expected to discontinue their professional journeys after marriage.

Drawing inspiration from Pamaal—a drama that bravely addresses misogyny, patriarchy, control, and narcissism—we highlighted a narrative led by Saba Qamar, portraying a writer discouraged from pursuing her career. A story that mirrors the lived experiences of countless women.

Through this concept, we aimed to send a clear message to new brides: marriage should never signal the end of ambition, independence, or professional identity. Women can—and should—continue working and claiming their space.

We chose Saba Qamar for her strength, intellect, and authenticity. Her work in Pamaal and Case No. 9 consistently challenges stereotypes and amplifies women’s voices, making her the perfect embodiment of this message.

To add emotional and cultural depth, we wove in Anwar Maqsood’spoetry, whose words reflect societal truths with timeless honesty.

Fashion, when purposeful, becomes a powerful medium for change.
