Indigenous Winter Sports Festival Ingenious Winter Sports Festival, IWSF It create healthy platform for youth. The cold is below freezing point. It plays between two villages.

Indigenous Sports Introduction: Sports are an important part of the indigenous community playing since long in their conventional way. The indigenous community plays sports such as winter sports especially Pachaw Gal or Pin Gal or Chikik Gal where youth as well as elders and youngster take part. It’s the most emotional and amusing sport playing on snow when there is more than 2 feet snow on the su

rface of earth. But in the remotest valleys of Kalash where people enjoy a unique sport and looking very delighted. There are number of Sports in the valleys but the most famous among all is Chikik Gal. The players from one village will go to another village on their invitation to play with them. The host village will provides space for the geust team and arranges food for dinner. Every house prepare foods for their guest because everyone from the host will take 1,2 and 3 people with him for dinner and after having dinner all the players gather inside a room where musical party take place. All the night they are enjoying chatting and singing dancing. The interesting thing is that the loser team will buy an ox for the winner wither its host or guest team. The ox will kill and cooked for morning breakfast and the meant along traditional cuisine called Kahi will be served and distributed among all players and villagers. Here the host village has to spend more than the guest especially when the host lost the game.

The 15-day traditional sports festival concluded at Kalash Valley Bamburit in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department. Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Naveed Ahmed was the special guest of the closing ceremony. The games were organized by the local support organization AVDP and the Kati Culture Organization in collaboration with the Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to promote tourism in Kalash Valleys under the special interest of Special Assistant Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wazirzada. Deputy Commissioner Chitral said that holding of the festival was of utmost importance for the region. And said. A Kalasha student Gul Bahar says she is happy and other her fellows are came out from homes to participate in festival because there were less tourist. She asked tourist to respect and get permission before jumping into taking photographs of them.
