Maritoni Jean L. Caridad is a varsity debater, adjudicator, and debate trainer from the University of Santo Tomas. She is a varsity member of the Thomasian Debaters Council and currently serves as Head of Training, with prior leadership experience as President of the Thomasian Debate Varsity (Senior High School). She has taken on key equity and organizing roles in tournaments such as Dialectics (Director for Equity; Convenor for the 2026 edition) and Verity – Pre-NASHDC Debate (Equity Director).
In competition, Maritoni has consistently performed at a high level as both a speaker and adjudicator. She has served on Chief Adjudication Panels in tournaments including Standpoint and Dialectics, and has broken into elimination rounds and earned best speaker awards across multiple open competitions. Her approach to debate is analytical and structured, with a strong emphasis on equity, fairness, and access within the activity. Outside of tournaments, she is known as a reliable trainer and organizer who focuses on building sustainable systems and supporting newer debaters.
