The following are the guidelines for setcard based on Talent Gym standard.
1. SETCARD is a picture-resume of talents (actors, models, etc.) to see if the appearance of the talent will fit in the description of the requirement (role, character, peg). This is the initial stage to determine who will be invited for VTR, GoSee, Live audition, etc.
2. Setcard must be as perfect as possible but no filters or alterations must be done. As you can see, SETCARD play a very important role to bag that certain gig/acting job.
3. Must be composed of 3 PHOTOS that includes headshot, half-body and whole body, showcasing your best angles.
4. Must be DECENT enough for corporate clients, meaning, NO naked or half naked or showing your undergarments photos, NO malicious poses or wet look, or just about any sex-driven act in the photo. You can still be sexy or look sexy without doing or showing any cliche poses.
5. Must be in a HIGH RESOLUTIONS, that would mean, you used a camera with high resolutions and you didn't recently uploaded it in any social networking sites like Facebook. Most of these sites tend to lessen the resolutions of your photo to save space. So once you grab it from an album on these websites, your photo will look distorted or pixelated in a big screen.
Your photos in Facebook look good on your phone because the size of the screen is relatively small but Clients/Producers/Casting Directors will screen it using a huge LCD screen. Your photo will be stretch to fit in the screen and with low resolution photos, it will be rejected immediately.
6. Must be in the BEST QUALITY. That would mean, NO selfies, NO old photos, NO photo crop.
For whatever reason that you don't have a studio photoshoot, doing it yourself is not a problem :
A. Use a high resolution phone camera, borrow one if your phone has a low reso.
B. Find a suitable background for your photo, a plain light-colored wall, with no distractions like painting, frame, plants, etc. may do. If you don't have, use a plain and light-colored blanket to cover the background. White background is always the best color.
C. Wear something nice and try different outfits; put on some make up or at least a fresh powder and a lipstick, just don't overdo it. We would still like to see what you look like in person, just be the best version of you, if you know what I mean.
D. Ask somebody to take as much shots as possible as you try different poses.
E. Don't forget to take - close up/headshot, half-body and whole body shots.
F. Choose from the photos taken which showcase your best angle and smile (don't look too serious, we want to see you are fun to work with)
G. Put these 3 best shots together or ask somebody who can.
7. ONLY 3 DETAILS. After choosing your best Whole body, Half-body and Headshot, lay it all out together and indicate the following details. NO MORE. NO LESS.
- SCREEN NAME : (e.g. Zach Baldomero)
