Yesterday, the Filipino spirit reached both the peak of triumph and the depths of sorrow on Mt. Everest. One kababayan stood on the world’s highest summit—a symbol of courage, perseverance, and the unbreakable will to rise above limits. Another brave soul, in the same pursuit of greatness, sadly did not make it home.

We mourn the heartbreaking loss of Philipp “PJ” Santiago II, who passed away during his courageous attempt to reach the summit. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. PJ’s bold spirit and passion for mountaineering remind us that the pursuit of great dreams always comes with risk—and incredible courage. His legacy lives on in the heights he dared to climb. 🕊️

To Rhisael “Ric” Rabe—congratulations on your extraordinary achievement. Your success on Everest is not just a personal triumph, but a proud moment for every Filipino. You have shown that with determination and heart, even the highest peaks can be conquered.

Climbing Mt. Everest is more than a physical feat—it is a profound journey of endurance, humility, and strength. Whether through victory or sacrifice, each step taken toward that summit is a tribute to the power of the human spirit.
