Artist supporting a space for artists.
Klievert Jon Junia Mendoza, spotted at K.ape CafΓ© & Bistro.
Klievert is a Waraynon professional dancer. He won a gold medal at the Concours International de Danse de Paris in France. He later became the first Filipino to reach the grand finals of the Youth America Grand Prix in New York, competing on one of the most demanding stages in youth ballet.
To date, Klievert is the only Filipino to receive the NAFA Discovery Scholarship, the top-tier full scholarship of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore. The award supported his formal training and marked a rare milestone for Filipino representation in one of Southeast Asiaβs leading arts institutions.
He is currently a Senior Company Artist of T.H.E Dance Company, one of the leading contemporary dance companies in Singapore. Despite working abroad, Klievert is not a stranger to the local arts scene. Whenever he comes home, he makes time to share his craft through training sessions and workshops. He has consistently supported local dancers free of charge, including moments when Alangalang represented the Philippines in Indonesia.
K.ape stands for this kind of exchange. A place where artists pass knowledge forward, where success does not end at the stage, and where community is built through generosity and shared effort.
