It honestly feels heavier writing this now.

We recently received guidance about the strict enforcement of ordinances, including the prohibition of barangay’s pasayaw events and some fiesta-related activities here in Sariaya. Bilang isang small lights and sounds service owner, sobrang bigat nito para sa amin. These events, especially the Sayawan for Kabataan, it’s not just work for us, it’s part of the joy and connection ng buong community.

While this directly affects Sariaya, alam din namin na hindi lang kami ang naaapektuhan. Maraming lugar sa iba’t ibang parts ng Philippines ang nakakaranas ng parehong situation. Nakakalungkot lang. Hindi lang para sa maliliit na negosyo tulad namin, kundi para sa lahat ng umaasa at nag-aabang ng mga ganitong celebration.

We understand and respect the need to follow these guidelines and prioritize what’s necessary during this time. Pero hindi pa rin maiiwasan na maramdaman ang lungkot at disappointment.

Hoping that soon, makabalik ulit ang mga ganitong events, at makapag-celebrate tayo ulit with the same energy, music, and joy na nagbubuklod sa ating lahat. 😇🤞🏼🙏🏼
