We often pray for discernment to identify wrong people, wrong influences, or wrong opportunities.
Someone taught us about this but at the end of the day She is the one who needed the advise once she taught us!!
But true discernment begins closer to home.
It is the ability to recognize when your own heart is drifting.
When pride starts creeping in.
When bitterness begins to grow.
When your attitude changes.
When your motives are no longer pure.
Many people are quick to discern what is wrong in others,
but slow to examine what is wrong within themselves.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.”
Psalm 139:23
Spiritual maturity is not just knowing what to avoid.
It is being humble enough to admit when God needs to work on you.
Sometimes the problem is not the situation.
Sometimes it is our response to it.
Sometimes God is not trying to change the people around us.
He is trying to change us.
The most dangerous blind spot is the one you refuse to acknowledge.
That is why a teachable spirit is so valuable.
Ask God to reveal what you cannot see.
Ask Him to correct what is out of alignment.
Ask Him to refine what does not reflect Him.
Because discernment is not only about detecting deception.
It is also about allowing God to expose and transform the parts of your own heart that still need His work. ❤️🔥
