Pumpkeen [ˈpʌmpkiːn]

Pumpkeen is a derivative from the word 'pumpkin'. Yes, that hard and round veggie from the squash family. But more than being a healthy veggie, the word 'pumpkin' is also used as a term of endearment like 'darling' or 'sweetheart'. But why do people call their loved ones 'pumpkin'? They do so because it means to call a person cute, adorable and sweet in reference to the veggi

e's appearance and taste. Cute, adorable and sweet... Do these adjectives remind you of your little ones in the family? I'm sure you would all agree that every family has precious little angels with these characteristics - a daughter or a son, a niece or a nephew, a granddaughter or a grandson, a goddaugther or a godson. These little pumpkins are heaven-sent giving each and every member of our families genuine smiles and laughter. But, as mentioned earlier, it can also refer to a person dear to us - a fiancee, a partner maybe or that adorable pet of yours! Now, why Pumpkeen with an 'E-E-N' instead of an 'I-N'? The name Pumpkeen is coined from the words 'pumpkin' and 'keen'. Keen is an adjective which means being eager and enthusiastic or liking something very much. It also means being clever in mind or being strong or deep in ideas or feelings. Yes, it is a highly positive word and is something we can (and should) apply in our lives too! :)

Why 'Pumpkeen'? Pumpkeen was born to encourage everyone to spread the love the keen way. Love, they say, is an operative word. It is something done. It is a commitment to make it be felt by the recipient. And if we do love somebody, let's be enthusiastic about it. Let's be eager to let the people dear to us feel the warmth of our love - even through the littlest ways - especially to children, your spouse-to-be or your partner. Our little pumpkins, as well as our family and friends, give us unparalleled happiness and infinite love. They give them genuinely and freely. And more often than not, it is through the little things too like a simple hug and kiss from us that they are able to know they are valued, they are loved... in a keen way. Let Pumpkeen be a part of your lives as you spread the love to your homes... then to the whole world.
