Back in Singapore, I used to do both home-based cooking and catering for parties and events. When I moved here to Manila to be with my son (who’s studying here), I decided to take a step back and spend more time with him. It’s also been an adjustment being away from my husband, but one thing I realized, I can never stay away from cooking.
Now, I’ve started cooking from home again here in Manila, preparing packed meals for students and anyone craving homemade food. Sometimes, I also take small catering orders for parties or gatherings. It makes me really happy knowing my food can bring a bit of comfort to others.
And to my friends and customers back in Singapore, thank you so much for all your support through the years. You’ve always been part of my journey, and I wouldn’t have the confidence to keep cooking today without you.
The income may not be the same here compared to Singapore, but for me it’s really not about the money, it’s about passion. Every time someone messages me saying they enjoyed my food, it makes all the effort worth it.
I know many students here are far from their families, so I hope my cooking helps you feel a little closer to home, even if you’re miles away.
Manila is still new for me, but I’m enjoying this new chapter and I’m grateful to share my passion with all of you. 💞
