Dugoys will be flaunting on the red carpet!

The Dugoy Festival of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro was nominated for its “Best Festival Practices and Performance” at the 36th Aliw Awards 2023. The 121st edition of the Dugoy Festival was held in January 2023, after the 2-year onslaught of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tourism Office through the initiatives of Marketing, Promotions and Events Section headed by Ms. Maryh Jane P. Mabagos submitted an entry authored by Mr. David Eleazar Z. Cortuna and Mr. Cydryck John I. Oliva. Deliberations and interviews were among the processes they went through.

Among the nominees for Aliw Award’s Best Festival Practices and Performance are: “Arayat Festival 2023; The 173rd La Union Founding Anniversary” San Fernando, La Union; “Paru-Paro Festival” of Dasmariňas, Cavite; “Dinagyang Festival” Iloilo City, Iloilo; “Masskara Festival” of Bacolod City; “Tanglawan Festival” of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan; “Kasanggayahan Festival” Sorsogon City; “Mamangi Festival” Ilagan City, Isabela; and “Dugoy Festival” of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.

Aliw Awards of Aliw Awards Foundation Inc. (AAFI) is one of the most prestigious and the only award-giving body that pioneered in giving recognition live entertainers in the Philippines. It has given recognition to some of the brightest stars in Philippines such as Leah Salonga, Regine Velasquez, Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Pilita Corales and many more.

This year’s Aliw Awards Foundation Inc. (AAFI) 36th Annual Awards will be held at Manila Hotel on December 11, 2023.
