The Hands that Wove the Town: The Spirit of Lola Maming ✨

This float honors the women of Pulupandan, symbolized by the iconic Lola Maming, whose hands wove salap and pandan while sustaining her family through fishing and selling fresh catch—fish, crabs, and shrimps.

At the center are the newly crowned Queens of Pulupandan 2026, who depicts Lola Maming riding a traditional pumpboat, designed to appear as if gliding across golden waves. The woven salap patterns integrated into the float represent unity, patience, and resilience. Her presence embodies the strength of women who quietly built the community’s livelihood and identity.

The concept highlights the often-unsung role of women as cultural bearers and providers. The moving pumpboat and woven design elements symbolize heritage actively in motion. The float directly represents Salapan’s roots—pandan, fishing, and coastal life—perfectly reflecting “Heritage in Motion: One Beat, One Salapan Spirit.”

This is a tribute to the hands that did not only weave nets—but wove the story of Salapan itself. ✨
