A 20-year-old woman in China ended up in critical condition because of her obsession with K-pop. To look like her idols, she dyed her hair every month without fail, ignoring the danger she was putting her health in.
In September 2025, red spots appeared on her legs, along with severe stomach pain and discomfort in her joints. When she arrived at the hospital in Zhengzhou, the doctors confirmed the worst: her kidneys were failing.
The diagnosis was acute nephritis caused by toxins from the dyes, which her body absorbed until they damaged vital organs. This case is a warning about the excessive use of chemicals, which not only damage the kidneys, but can cause respiratory failure and increase the risk of cancer.
What started as a change of look ended in a fight for her life.
