A Decade of Dedication: ACE Dumaguete Doctors Celebrates 10 Years of Healing and Community Service
A spectacular ten-minute fireworks display lit up the night sky over Dumaguete, each burst of color a testament to a decade of perseverance, growth, and unwavering commitment. This was the scene as ACE Dumaguete Doctors (ACEDDI) commemorated its 10th Founding Anniversary, a milestone marked not just by celebration, but by a profound act of giving back to the very community it serves.
The anniversary, themed "A Decade of Achieving Healthcare Excellence," was a multifaceted event that honored the institution's journey. It was a journey, as one speaker noted, that faced "two challenging experiences which appeared almost insurmountable." Yet, through resilience, perseverance, and faith, the hospital has emerged as a pillar of health and hope in the region.
The celebration culminated in the inauguration of the Dr. Jonathan C. Amante Hall, a tribute to the legacy and vision of one of its key figures. During the ceremony, it was emphasized that while the structure and systems are vital, the true heart of the hospital's success is its people. "We recognize that the most important among the three are the people running the hospital," a speaker shared, acknowledging the dedicated staff who bring the mission of healing to life every day.
The Heart of Giving Back: A Mission of Care
At the core of the anniversary celebration was a massive free medical mission held for the community of Barangay Daro and surrounding areas. The event transformed the hospital grounds into a bustling hub of compassionate care, demonstrating the hospital's social responsibility in the most tangible way possible.
"This is give and take," explained one of the organizers. "This is our way of thanking the community for giving trust on ACEDDI."
Hundreds of residents, from young children to senior citizens, received a wide array of free services. The outpouring of support from the hospital's various departments was immense:
Free Consultations: Teams of doctors and nurses from different specialties, including the Family and Community Medicine department, were on hand to provide medical advice and check-ups.
Comprehensive Free Testing: The laboratory and ancillary departments offered essential diagnostic tests at no cost, including CBC, urinalysis, and even X-rays when prescribed by an attending physician.
Nutritional Guidance: The dietetics department provided free diet counseling, empowering individuals with the knowledge to manage their health through proper nutrition.
Free Medicines and Vitamins: A fully stocked pharmacy distributed essential medications and vitamins, ensuring that patients could begin their treatment immediately.
"The most rewarding part of having this medical mission is that we're able to help the community here in Barangay Daro," one staff member said with a smile. Another doctor highlighted the importance of the mission, stating, "I believe that not everyone has access to healthcare. Doing this is actually fulfilling."
The event powerfully addressed the reality that for many, healthcare can be expensive. By bringing these services directly to the people, free of charge, ACE Dumaguete Doctors reaffirmed its pledge to be a hospital for all. The celebration was more than an anniversary; it was a powerful declaration of a decade of care and a promise of many more to come.
