Formed by Bo Razón in 1998, Puro Ritmo became the band that ignited Cuba fever in Manila. As the country’s only authentic Cuban music ensemble at the time, the group transformed Café Havana in Malate into one of the hottest nightlife destinations in the Philippines.

Night after night, the club overflowed with people. On weekends—and often even on weeknights—the crowds spilled onto the sidewalk, where extra tables had to be set up along the street. Everyone wanted to experience the infectious rhythms, electrifying energy, and unmistakable spirit of Havana brought to life by Puro Ritmo.

On July 28, that unforgettable vibe, energy, and spirit will come alive once again as Puro Ritmo reunites for its 28th-anniversary performance at Sari Sari Club in Makati—a special night celebrating the music, the memories, and the band that helped define an era in Manila nightlife.

🇵🇭 A Humble Appeal from Banda Kawayan Pilipinas, Inc.

Minsan sa buhay, may mga pagkakataong ang pangarap ay hindi lang tungkol sa amin—kundi tungkol sa pagdadala ng pangalan ng Pilipinas sa buong mundo.

This October 6–12, 2026, Banda Kawayan Pilipinas has been invited to represent our country at the 20th Festival Internacional de Folklore "Ashpa Súmaj" in Argentina.

For us, this is more than just a performance. It is an opportunity to let the world hear the unique sound of Filipino bamboo music and experience the beauty of our culture.

But to be honest, we cannot do it alone.

As a non-stock, non-profit cultural organization, wala po kaming malaking pondo para sa airfare at iba pang travel expenses ng aming delegation. Every day, we're reaching out to government agencies, foundations, private companies, and kind-hearted individuals, hoping that someone will believe in our mission.
