RA 12199 removed an important phrase from RA 10410 that recognized "FSL as the mother tongue or L1 of deaf children," replacing it instead with vague terms concerning "diversity" and "appropriate languages."

Former President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Filipino Sign Language law (Republic Act 11106) on October 30, 2018, marking a significant milestone.

Today, on the 6th anniversary of the FSL law, let's celebrate the progress and empowerment it has brought to the Deaf community in the Philippines!
