With over 14 years in the oil industry, Mr. Steven Tan is the Fleet Services Group Manager at Petron Corporation, leading trucking logistics, delivery operations, and the company’s vendor managed inventory system. He brings deep expertise in operational efficiency and supply chain resilience.

In our symposium, he will share insights on the Physical Internet as a revolutionary concept that applies principles of the digital internet in helping industries build more efficient, sustainable, and resilient supply chains.

How about we take a deeper dive into the Physical Internet (PI) and uncover its significance in the international landscape?

Our next plenary speaker, Kevin Liu (Liu Shi Hong), will discuss the ambition and development of Physical Internet in China, including the country’s efforts to leverage PI to enable next-generation logistics and the role of PI principles in achieving diverse and scalable development pathways.

Kevin Liu is one of the key figures in initiating the China Physical Internet Alliance and currently serves as its General Secretary. He is also a Senior Consultant for the forklift and logistics robot industry in China, as well as the Chief Editor of the industry’s renowned social media account, β€œChina Forklift Tribe.”

He is the President of International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE), a James Croes Medal recipient, and ranked among Stanford’s top 2% of scientists worldwide.

The IE 158: Supply Chain Management for Industrial and Service Systems class will hold the third run of the β€œIndustrial Engineers in Supply Chain Management” mini-seminar series on the 29th of November! This will be held at the Engineering Theater of Melchor Hall, College of Engineering at 2pm to 5pm as a culminating activity for the class.

We are encouraging our current IEORD students to attend, learn, and interact with our very own alumni as they share their experiences and expertise in their respective supply chain management fields.
