Senior Police Officer 1 Mary Chris Abacahin Camacho is one of the official candidates of the 2019 Mrs. Philippines Asia-Pacific Philippines Beauty Pageant to be held on February 3, 2019 at Treston International College Events Center, BGC, Taguig City.
Abacahin, 40, and mother of two, is the first married woman of the Philippine National Police to join a national beauty search.
For the record, Senior Inspector Sofia Loren Deliu, competed in the 2015 Miss Earth Philippines. She has since married and became a top aide of President Rodrigo Duterte.
SPO1 Camacho stands 5'5" and has been working as a Camp Crame-based liaison officer for four years now; she is assigned at PRO 8, Logistics Division.
SPO1 Camacho got separated from her husband and raised in her custody their two growing up sons. This gutsy, strong-willed beauty from Pagadian City persevered and entered the PNP, graduating with the Class Panangga of 2005. She is a graduate of an Elementary Education degree and is a practicing teacher when she decided to become a police woman. She has singlehandedly reared her two sons - the older now an Information Technology graduate and the younger soon to graduate with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.
Camacho confessed her husband’s being abusive and irresponsible as the cause of their union’s break up. This painful lesson as a separated wife has made her stronger as a person and with which she will use as a platform and rallying advocacy at the 2019 Mrs. Philippines Asia-Pacific Philippines tilt under its national director Mrs. Mitzie Go-Gil, the grand winner of Mrs. Asia Pacific Tourism 2018.
SPO1 Camacho hopes to inspire other women who are victims of similar abuse like she endured as a wife and mother. She strongly believes that women have equal rights as men and are capable to do what they want to do in life; and that nothing is impossible to fulfill their dreams.
SPO1 Camacho met select members of media earlier today at Eagle's Nest Cafe in Camp Crame, Quezon City for an intimate meet-and-greet.
