📣 Cebu City Pickleball Tournament Announcement
Following our partners’ meeting held last Tuesday, November 25, 2025, we regret to inform everyone that the Cebu City Pickleball Tournament is officially canceled. After careful and thorough deliberation by BAX Sports and Events, this decision was made to ensure we do not compromise the quality and experience that every sports enthusiast deserve.
Here are the key reasons behind the cancellation:
1️⃣ Prize Allocation Concern – Missing Category
During earlier discussions, six categories were finalized with equal prize allocations. However, it was later found that the Men’s Beginner category was not included together with its prize allocation. A suggestion was made to merge it with another category, but doing so would affect the fairness and competitive balance of the event.
2️⃣ Last-Minute Venue Schedule Conflict – Basketball Event Added
We were informed that a basketball game was inserted into the venue schedule at the last minute, set from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the same tournament dates. This unexpected conflict would force us to significantly adjust the match flow and logistics, including pushing for knockout formats due to time limitations. This setup does not reflect the quality of competition we planned for.
We are truly grateful for the opportunity to facilitate this event. As sports enthusiasts ourselves, we value the quality of play and the overall athlete experience—and we refuse to offer anything less.
To everyone who has been looking forward to this tournament and has set aside their time, we sincerely apologize. Your support means the world to us.
