Maramag, Bukidnon โ€” Kape Lumad, a social enterprise rooted in Maramag, Bukidnon, has been selected as one of only 50 MSMEs across Southeast Asia, and proudly, one of just 8 from the Philippines, to join the prestigious ASEAN SOAR Together 2025 Program, powered by the ASEAN Foundation.

For the Lumad farmers of Bukidnon, this milestone is a new chapter.

Behind every bag of Kape Lumad beans are the Manobo farmers who rise before dawn to tend their coffee trees โ€” preserving tradition, livelihood, and legacy in every harvest. By choosing Kape Lumad, customers arenโ€™t just enjoying the provinceโ€™s rich highland flavors, but a part of a movement that champions fair trade, cultural heritage, and indigenous empowerment.

Through the ASEAN SOAR Together program, Kape Lumad will gain:

Digital empowerment โ€“ training in e-commerce and live selling to connect with coffee lovers worldwide.

Practical growth โ€“ hands-on business challenges that help sharpen strategies while keeping true to their roots.

Regional showcase โ€“ opportunities to feature Bukidnon-grown drips, beans, and capsules at ASEAN events and digital platforms.

Out of hundreds of applicants across 10 ASEAN countries, to be chosen as one of the 50, and one of only eight from the Philippines, is an honor for Bukidnon and our farmers.

Itโ€™s a reminder that the province is home to world-class coffee, dedicated farmers, and stories worth sharing across the globe.

About Kape Lumad
Kape Lumad is a social enterprise specialty coffee producer based in Maramag, Bukidnon, Philippines, empowering Manobo farmers through sustainable coffee farming. Its beans are ethically sourced, preserving cultural heritage while delivering premium flavors to every cup. With offerings from drip packs to capsules to fresh beans, Kape Lumad is proud to bring the soul of Bukidnon coffee to the world.

SHIP UPDATE | 2GO Travel will soon serve Manila-Cebu-Siargao and vice versa route using M/V 2GO Masikap and will tentatively start this October 2025

The countryโ€™s remaining liner company: 2GO Travel will soon start a liner service connecting Manila (North Harbor) to Cebu and Siargao and vice versa route tentatively this October 2025 using M/V 2GO Masikap - one of the M Series of 2GO Travel.

The vessel is said to be docking in the newly constructed Jubang Cruise Port Terminal compared to the Dapa Port which is relatively small and liner vessels cannot dock in that said port

M/V 2GO Masikap is one of the new generation of newly acquired 2GO Liners, She is a 2002-built ROPAX Liner from Japan. The vessel has a length overall of 167 meters and a breadth of 26 meters.

She is powered by two units of Pielstick NKK Marine Diesel Engines with a total power of 27,000 horsepower which enables her to have a service speed of 19 to 21 knots

This new route is a great option for travellers who wish to have a more scenic and enjoyable cruise-like experience from Manila to Siargao via Cebu and a great alternative aside from airplanes to the country's surfing and island party capital ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ๏ธ
