BAIC Philippines continues to strengthen its foothold in the local automotive market, carrying forward the momentum of a successful 2025 and entering 2026 with growing consumer confidence, a wider dealer network, and an increasingly diverse product lineup tailored to the needs of Filipino motorists.

BAIC Philippines has demonstrated remarkable market momentum throughout 2026, driven by a surge in consumer confidence and a rapidly growing demand for electrified mobility solutions.

In the first five months of 2026, BAIC Philippines recorded a 10% increase in sales compared to the same period in 2025, reflecting sustained consumer confidence and growing demand for the brand's vehicle lineup.

The brand's performance was driven by sustained consumer demand for hybrid and electric vehicles, which accounted for 93% of BAIC’s total sales during the period. This stands as a powerful testament to the exceptionally warm reception and growing enthusiasm that Filipino motorists have consistently demonstrated toward BAIC Philippines' latest lineup of innovative New Energy SUVs, signaling a significant shift in local automotive preferences.

Leading the brand's performance was the B30e Dune, which accounted for 69% of total sales during the period. The B30e Dune sustained market performance highlights a robust consumer appetite for electrified vehicles, proving that Filipino motorists increasingly prioritize a seamless blend of efficiency, practicality, and versatility for their daily commutes.

The B60 Beaumont series followed as the brand's second-largest contributor, representing 18% of total sales, further demonstrating consumer interest in BAIC's expanding electrified lineup.

The strong performance of these models reflects a broader shift in consumer preferences as more Filipino motorists consider electrified vehicles as a practical and viable mobility solution. Together, the B30e Dune and B60 series continue to anchor BAIC's position in the country's growing new-energy vehicle segment.

Further strengthening BAIC's electrified lineup is the newly launched B40e Trailmaster rEV, which has sold out in the first month of sales, demonstrating an overwhelming reception from customers seeking electrified off-road capable vehicles.
The automotive industry is constantly evolving, as buyers increasingly seek smarter and more sustainable mobility options.

The performance of BAIC Philippines over its first five months underscores our readiness to meet these evolving market demands head-on. BAIC continues to cement its position as a leading choice for consumers in the country's growing new energy SUV segment.

LGUs, Business Leaders Highlight CALAX Subsection 3’s Role in Driving Growth

The economic landscape of Cavite is poised for greater growth following the opening of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 3, extending the expressway to Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias City.

With CALAX now spanning 26 kilometers from Mamplasan, Biñan, Laguna to General Trias, Cavite, local government officials and business leaders cited the project’s role in improving connectivity, attracting investments, and creating new opportunities for businesses and communities.

Florencio Ayos, President of the GenTri Business Club, said the new subsection is a long-awaited development that cuts travel time between Laguna and Cavite’s industrial hubs to just 26 minutes.

"We are no longer a destination that is hard to reach — we are now a city that is impossible to ignore. Infrastructure is not just about roads; it is about opening doors for every Filipino entrepreneur. General Trias is now better positioned than ever to attract investments, generate employment, and build a more resilient economy,” Ayos stated.

General Trias City Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV described the new interchange as ‘a gateway to greater opportunities’ that positions the city as a thriving center of industry. “Habang patuloy na lumalago ang General Trias bilang sentro ng industriya at kaunlaran, mahalaga ang proyektong tulad nito upang mas mailapit ang mga oportunidad sa ating mga kababayan,” said Mayor Ferrer.

The positive outlook was echoed by Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer Barzaga, who emphasized that the expressway enhances access to commerce, education, and tourism.

“Ang proyektong ito ay hindi lamang tungkol sa bagong kalsada, ito ay tungkol sa mas magandang kalidad ng buhay. Ang CALAX ay simbolo ng patuloy na progreso at ng ating sama-samang pangarap para sa isang mas maunlad, mas konektado, at mas maaliwalas na kinabukasan para sa bawat mamamayan,” Mayor Barzaga noted.

Barangay Adlas (Silang) Captain Joelito Generoso highlighted the project’s impact on local development. "Napakalaking benepisyo ng pagbubukas ng CALAX Governor’s Drive. Nagkaroon ng oportunidad sa negosyo, pagbubukas ng mga bagong trabaho, at pagtaas ng presyo ng lupa. Pinalakas din nito ang turismo at transportasyon ng mga kalakal," Barangay Capt. Generoso said.

Meanwhile, Barangay San Francisco (General Trias) Captain Ryan Santor pointed to the long-term benefits of improved accessibility. "We believe that the opening of CALAX SS3 will bring lasting benefits to nearby communities through improved connectivity, increased investments, and easier transportation of goods and services,” said Barangay Capt. Santor.

Beyond improving travel, the opening of CALAX Subsection 3 is expected to strengthen trade, support business expansion, and enhance Cavite’s competitiveness as an investment destination.

CALAX is an MPCALA Holdings Inc. project with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as project grantor.

MPCALA Holdings Inc., the developer and operator of CALAX, is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the toll road arm of the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).

Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) facilitated the planting of 2,000 trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains on June 2, 2026, at Barangay Magsaysay, Siniloan, Laguna.

This long-term initiative is a partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Magsaysay Coconut Farmers Association (MACOFA), with support from the local government of Siniloan. Under the DENR’s National Greening Program, the project aims to combat deforestation by sustaining the growth and survival of 14,000 fruit-bearing trees planted since the program began in 2024. Now in its third year, the program has achieved its target with the addition of these newly planted trees. By restoring environmental quality, the program also helps provide local communities with fresher air, cleaner water, and natural flood control.

This initiative reflects HFI’s commitment to ensuring that Honda remains a company that society wants to exist, this time through a direct contribution to environmental preservation and long-term community well-being. HFI’s efforts also contribute to the realization of Honda’s 2050 Zero Carbon vision.

The recent activity was held in celebration of Arbor Day, an annual tree-planting event in the Philippines every June. It was attended by 80 volunteers, including HFI members, partners from DENR and MACOFA, and other representatives from the government sector.

Members of HFI include Honda Cars Philippines, Inc (HCPI), Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corp. (HTPE), and Honda Logistics Philippines, Inc. (HLPH).

vivo V70 captures outdoor adventures like scenes from old memory

Some trips become memorable not because of where you went, but because of who you were with.

For a group of friends navigating adulthood after college, a spontaneous day in the Philippines' popular amusement park, Enchanted Kingdom, felt like stepping back into simpler times, the kind filled with endless laughter, blurry group photos, chaotic rides, and carefree moments that once defined their university days.

It's this kind of memory that the vivo V70's Film Camera Mode 3.0 is designed to preserve, not just what happened, but how it felt in the moment.

Film Camera Mode 3.0 transformed ordinary amusement park scenes into frames that felt lifted from a memory book. Under natural daylight, afternoon sunlight took on a softer glow, vibrant attractions were rendered in warm vintage tones, and candid moments carried a natural, film-like character.

Throughout the day, Enchanted Kingdom became the perfect backdrop for testing the feature. Friends posed between rides, shared spontaneous laughs, and revisited the energy they once had as students.

Whether using Pack Film, Classic Negative, Positive Film, Cold Film, Nostalgia, or Sunshine filters, each frame carries a distinct personality while preserving the emotion behind the experience.
The Pack Film filter delivered playful retro energy, while Classic Negative added timeless depth and contrast. Positive Film offered a bright and cheerful interpretation of the day, while Cold Film created a more cinematic and reflective mood. For those seeking a stronger vintage feel, Nostalgia recreated the warmth of printed photographs, while Sunshine enhanced natural light with a soft, glowing finish.

Together, these filters allow users to choose not just how a scene looks, but how they want it to be remembered.

What makes the vivo V70 stand out is how Film Camera Mode 3.0 understands that some memories are better felt than perfectly seen. Even the beginning of a trip feels like a treasured memory waiting to be revisited.

Instead of simply documenting reality, the vivo V70 romanticizes it, turning ordinary outdoor adventures into scenes that feel deeply personal, cinematic, and timeless.

Because sometimes, the best photos are the ones that bring you back to who you were during your old college days: innocent, loud, spontaneous, and surrounded by the right people.

Relive your own nostalgic moments with the vivo V70. Get yours now at vivo stores nationwide or online via the official vivo e-store, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

Mastering Skills, Leading the Future: Isuzu PH continues to
elevate aftersales service through annual Skills Olympics

Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) once again demonstrated its commitment to world-class aftersales service excellence as it successfully held the 21st Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO), gathering the top-performing Isuzu dealer service personnel under this year’s theme, “Mastering Skills, Leading the Future.”

A total of 113 participants from Isuzu dealerships nationwide competed across the three categories - through rigorous written and practical competitions, the program evaluates and develops the competencies of Service Technicians, Service Advisors, and Parts Staff – assessing not only their technical knowledge, but also practical troubleshooting, vehicle inspection, customer handling, parts operations, and real-world service scenarios.

This year’s theme reflects IPC’s continued investment in continuous learning and skills development, emphasizing that mastery of technical and customer service skills is essential in leading the future of the automotive industry. As vehicle technologies continue to evolve and customer expectations rise, IPC remains focused on preparing its nationwide dealer network to stay ahead through continuous training, assessment, and improvement programs such as ISSO.

“At Isuzu, we understand that our customers depend on their vehicles every day for business, livelihood, and family needs. This is why we continue to invest in programs like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics - to further strengthen the skills and capabilities of our service personnel nationwide. Through continuous learning and improvement, we aim to help keep our customers’ vehicles running at their best, minimize downtime, and provide them with the confidence and peace of mind they deserve every time they visit our dealerships,” said IPC Executive Vice President, Yasuhiko Oyama.

The competition featured three major categories namely Parts Staff, Service Advisor, and Service Technician, each designed to evaluate the critical skills needed to deliver excellent customer support and efficient vehicle servicing across the Isuzu dealer network.

Emerging as Champion in the Parts Staff Category was Frederic Luna of Isuzu Pasig, followed by Harold Valencia of Isuzu Quezon Avenue as 1st Runner-Up, and Eruel John Gamboa of Isuzu Bacolod as 2nd Runner-Up.

Taking home the championship title in the Service Advisor Category was Mark Louie Malipol of Isuzu Batangas. He was followed by Jonel Barrientos of Isuzu Iloilo as 1st Runner-Up and Charmaine Joan Almeida of Isuzu San Pablo as 2nd Runner-Up.
Meanwhile, the Service Technician Category was conducted as a team competition, highlighting the importance of teamwork, coordination, and technical collaboration in resolving real-world vehicle concerns inside the workshop.

Winning this years’ Service Technician Category were Rainer Morales and Marco Comora of Isuzu Alabang as Champions. Securing 1st Runner-Up honors were Alvie Jhon Valdez and Jay-ar Jumawan of Isuzu Butuan, while Francis Suarez and Royal Jazz Ganas from Isuzu Cagayan De Oro claimed the 2nd Runner-Up spot.

IPC also recognized Jereme Asilum of Isuzu Makati with the Top Service Technician Award for his exceptional individual performance throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Isuzu Cagayan De Oro was named the 21st Isuzu Service Skills Olympics Dealer Grand Champion for its outstanding overall performance across categories.

In his speech, IPC Vice President for Aftersales Mr. Hodaka Matsuda emphasized that excellent aftersales service remains essential in strengthening the overall Isuzu ownership experience for customers nationwide. “At Isuzu, our commitment goes beyond providing dependable vehicles. Through programs like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics, we continue to strengthen our service standards and ensure that our customers receive the best care every time they visit our dealerships,” Matsuda said.

As IPC continues to strengthen its nationwide aftersales operations and dealer network capabilities, customers can be assured that Isuzu remains committed to continuously improving its service standards across all dealerships nationwide. Through initiatives like the Isuzu Service Skills Olympics, IPC aims to provide every Isuzu customer with reliable support, quality workmanship, and greater peace of mind .

MPTC convenes multi-sectoral Flood Mitigation Forum to boost resilience in Southern Metro Manila and surrounding provinces

The Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPTS), the south arm of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, brought together stakeholders from national government agencies, local government units (LGUs), and host communities of CALAX and CAVITEX to strengthen collaboration in addressing perennial flooding concerns in Southern Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

This marks the first Flood Mitigation Forum conducted in the South, providing a platform for multi-sectoral dialogue, data sharing, and coordinated planning on flood mitigation efforts.

“This year’s forum aims to solidify cooperation among government agencies and LGUs in addressing recurring flooding challenges across Metro Manila and nearby provinces,” said MPTC Chief Tollways Development and Engineering Officer Gil F. Amilbangsa.

The MPTC Flood Mitigation Forum 2026 gathered key representatives from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO). Participants from the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), and PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC) also took part in the discussions and the sharing of initiatives.

LGU representatives from Las Piñas, Parañaque, Pasay, Taguig, Cavite, and Laguna provided valuable insights during the forum, along with key leaders including Cavite Governor Francisco Gabriel “Abeng” Diaz Remulla, Office of Civil Defense Director Jose Harry M. Barber, Biñan City Councilor Titus Bautista, and Former Senator Cynthia Villar of Villar SIPAG Foundation.

Flood risk area data and assessments were provided by AMH Philippines, which was engaged by MPT South, to support evidence-based identification of critical flood-prone areas and inform mitigation planning.

Discussions highlighted the impact of improper waste disposal on flooding, particularly in low-lying communities. LGUs reiterated efforts to strengthen enforcement of anti-littering and solid waste management ordinances, alongside regular declogging of drainage systems and monitoring of critical waterways.

“Effective flood mitigation depends heavily on good governance, which is a core principle in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) implementation. Participation is essential, as community involvement strengthens ownership and improves the relevance of mitigation measures,” said Office of Civil Defense Director Jose Harry M. Barber.

In partnership with barangays and volunteer groups, LGUs continue community-based environmental education campaigns in promoting proper waste segregation, infrastructure planning, and disaster risk reduction initiatives.

“We recognize that multi-sectoral collaboration creates a ripple of hope for communities in the South, especially during typhoon season. We, at MPT South, will continue to work closely with LGUs and national government agencies to translate discussions into action,” said MPT South President and General Manager Andrew B. Pangilinan.

The forum concluded with commitments from stakeholders to improve drainage systems, strengthen flood control management, enhance disaster resilience, and reinforce inter-agency coordination.

The Flood Mitigation Forum 2026 underscores the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation Group’s commitment to providing a platform for collaboration and sustained action to address flooding challenges in surrounding communities.
