he butterfly garden reflects the mesmerizing beauty of the province known as the “Last Frontier of the Philippines” showcasing a variety of gorgeous free flying Palawan butterflies.
Embellished with thousands of stones, the costume embodies the symbolic meaning of the butterfly. In life, it is a powerful beacon of growth and new beginnings, the butterfly signifies the power of transformation and the incredible feats we can achieve when we believe in ourselves.
The butterfly also correlates to the Subaraw Biodiversity Festival because it celebrates the diverse variety of animal species surrounding the terrain of the Puerto Princesa Underground River. Which was graciously named one of the Seven Wonders of Nature in the world.
Adorned with pink cherry blossoms, this represents the Balayong Festival, a celebration of the blooming of Balayong trees, also known as the Palawan Cherry Blossom. These trees are indigenous to Palawan, and it is a symbol of peace, love, and unity. 🦋
