Lipa City Marks Lipa Siege 1898 Commemoration on June 18, 2025 with LTN Events at the Helm
LIPA CITY – In a powerful tribute to the city’s revolutionary roots, the Lipa Siege 1898 Commemoration was held last June 18, 2025, marking exactly 127 years since the historic uprising that played a pivotal role in Batangas' fight for Philippine independence. The event is a key highlight of the Lipa Foundation Celebration 2025, with planning, direction, and ex*****on led by the creative and production team of LTN Events.
Following the success of last year’s acclaimed historical musical Hibik at Himagsik nina Victoria Laktaw, LTN Events was once again commissioned by the city government to handle this year’s commemoration program. Their continued involvement reflects the city's trust in their ability to blend cultural storytelling with high-impact event production.
Held at a historic open-air venue in the heart of Lipa, the commemorative event was graced by Mayor Eric Africa, members of the City Council, key city officials, and Lipa Foundation Day Chairman Boy Manguera, who all came together to honor the bravery of the Lipeños who took part in the siege of 1898.
A special segment of the program featured esteemed journalist and documentarist Mr. Howie Severino as Guest of Honor, delivering a compelling talk on Lipa’s significant role during the revolution and emphasizing the importance of preserving local history through community participation and artistic interpretation.
The event was artistically directed by Luisito Nario, whose vision brought the Lipa Siege to life through a moving blend of music, narration, and dramatization. Nario’s direction underscored the emotional depth and historical weight of the occasion, highlighting the sacrifices of the city’s forebears and the enduring relevance of their struggle.
Through this meaningful production, LTN Events once again affirmed its role as a cultural partner of the city, helping preserve and promote local heritage through engaging and thoughtful public events. The June 18 commemoration is more than a ceremonial date—it is a reminder of the resilience and spirit that continue to shape Lipa’s identity today.
