you were one of the firsts to believe in my songs, my stories, and my crazy dreams — you will always be a part of me. wherever this may take me.
you’ve seen so much of this journey — the passion, the doubts, and everything in between. And along the way, we got to see the world together, somehow.

our future kids will definitely grow up knowing “Uncle Makoy.” ❤️

Buy1Take1 burgers with me. ☺️

Steve Bai!!
we love you, Makoy. 🤍
KZ - Almost 15 years ago, we were just kids who uprooted our lives and moved to Manila to chase our dreams.
I still remember all of us hanging out in my tiny condo, trying to figure out how the hell we were going to make a living doing what we loved. We’d rearrange songs so we’d have something to perform at our next gig.
Those versions of Rolling in the Deep, Royals, Tadhana, Say Something, Isang Linggong Pag-ibig — the very first versions of those arrangements — it was just me, a VoiceLive 2, and you, Kuya Makoy.
Just us.
Before everything became what it is now, there was that tiny condo. Those long nights. Those little gigs that felt like the biggest thing in the world.
And you were there.
You were there from the beginning.
Kuya Makoy, I honestly don’t know what to say.
Wala ko ko kabalo asa magsugod kuya. I’ve been trying to write this and I keep deleting everything because none of the words feel enough.
Unsaon mani kuya uy.
I don’t know how to imagine the band without you. I don’t know how we’re supposed to play those songs without looking for you.
So I’ll just say thank you.
Thank you for the music. For the memories. For the laughter, the long nights, the gigs, and for sharing so much of your life with us.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of yours.
Thank you for being there when TJ and I were still trying to become who we are.
You made our lives better, Kuya.
You really did.
Sakit kaayo kuya. And I wish I had more words. I wish I could say something that would somehow make this goodbye easier.
But I can’t.
So for now, I’ll just hold on to everything you left us with.
The music. The memories. The stories. The laughter.
And all those songs that will never sound the same again.
This goodbye is painful, but I’ll take comfort in knowing that you are HOME now.
Rest well, Kuya Makoy.
We’ll take it from here.
And we’ll keep playing.
For you. 🙏🏻🤍
