They came from the Caribbean, but somehow, they found forever in Siargao. 🌴💍
Shaun, an American, and Reysiel, a Bisaya from the Philippines, met in Grand Cayman. Eight years, countless memories, and a life built together later, they decided it was finally time to say I do.
And perhaps the most beautiful part? They chose another island.
Coming from the Caribbean, tropical beauty was nothing new to them. Yet they chose Siargao—a different kind of paradise—to bring together 90 of their closest friends and family from the Philippines, the US, and Cayman. For many, it was their first time on the island, and the celebration became more than a wedding—it became their first Siargao adventure together.
They began with a relaxed welcome dinner at Harana, where different cultures, races, and stories came together over good food and island nights.
For the wedding, Reysiel deliberately went in a different direction. Instead of the tropical blooms abundant in the Caribbean, she chose dried flowers—creating a softer, earthy aesthetic where Bohemian textures met Native Filipino elements. Organic, warm, understated, and beautifully unexpected.
And then came the little island miracle.
A storm was forecast to pass through the country around their wedding date. On the wedding day, the skies held beautifully through the ceremony.
The rain came just after they said I do—a little island surprise that Shaun, Reysiel, and their guests simply embraced.
And then, almost as if Siargao knew the celebration was about to begin, the skies cleared just before the reception program.
The rest of the night was theirs.
Good food, laughter, music, dancing, and 90 of their favorite people from three different places—celebrating well into the night, long after the stars came out.
Maybe the rain wasn’t something to worry about after all.
Maybe it was simply Siargao adding its own little signature to their story.
From Grand Cayman to Siargao. From two island worlds to one unforgettable beginning.
