SU NO CLASSES

: No classes at all levels and all SU offices will be closed on October 17, 2025 (Friday) in celebration of the Buglasan Festival.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1031, October 17 has been declared a special (non-working) day in Negros Oriental.

(Pamplona, Sibulan, Valencia, SantaCatalina),
(Culaba, Naval, Biliran and Cabucgayan)
within the next 1 to 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Amlan, SanJose, CityOfTanjay) and (Caibiran) which may persist within 30 minutes to an hour and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

MOTOR RIDER DIED IN ROAD CRASH IN NEGOR

A motorcycle rider lost his life early this morning, around 4:30 AM, after his motorcycle crashed during the Buglasan MotoTour 2025 in Brgy. Polo, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.

The rider was identified as Jonathan Aballe Mejos, participant of Buglasan Moto tour Version 3, 29 years old ,male , single, a resident of Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Organizers immediately recalled all riders and instructed to return to Dumaguete City by 12 noon. Governor Manuel L. Sagarbarria has directed relevant agencies to assist in all expenses associated with this unfortunate incident. Additionally, organizers affiliated with IPHO will facilitate the transfer of Mr. Jonathan Mejos’s body to Pagadian City.
