Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage
This design is a grand, warm, and reverent devotional altar crafted to honor Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje (Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage). It balances solemn sacredness with festive Filipino hospitality, creating a space that feels both holy and welcoming—perfect for novena prayers, feast day celebrations, and Flores de Mayo culmination. The theme centers on abundant faith, peace, guidance, and the beauty of devotion, using lush natural elements and soft lighting to evoke a heavenly, serene atmosphere.
The image of Our Lady is placed as the clear centerpiece, framed perfectly by symmetrical arrangements on both sides. This balance symbolizes harmony, order, and the peace she represents, drawing the eye and creating a sense of reverence.
The Flower selection: A rich mix of roses in soft pink, cream, peach, and deep red; full blue and white hydrangeas; and vibrant tropical touches like heliconia and large palm leaves. This blend adds a distinctly local, Filipino character, even reflecting Dipolog’s identity as the Orchid City of the Philippines.
Meaning: The overflowing flowers represent the outpouring of love, gratitude, and blessings from devotees, while greenery symbolizes hope, growth, and safe journeys.
Draping warm fairy lights and hanging crystal-style string lights cover the ceiling, casting a soft golden glow over the entire space. This creates a gentle, radiant ambiance that feels like “heavenly light,” symbolizing Our Lady’s guidance and protection. The warm lighting also enhances the richness of the flowers, making the altar feel vibrant and alive.
The Golden angel statues at the base represent heavenly protection and intercession.
Green carpeted pathway leads directly to the image, guiding devotees toward prayer and reflection.
Neutral lattice backdrop keeps the focus on the image and flowers, while adding subtle elegant texture.
Color palette: Soft pink, white, cream, and touches of gold match Our Lady’s vestments, while deep greens and reds add warmth and life—symbolizing purity, peace, divinity, and joy.
The design strikes the perfect balance: it is respectful and solemn enough for prayer and devotion, yet full of life and warmth—truly reflecting the Filipino tradition of celebrating faith with joy, beauty, and a generous heart.
