On November 25, 2025, the Eastwoods Student Organization took a powerful stand as we led a meaningful program on VAWC (Violence Against Women and Their Children)โan ongoing advocacy that calls for community awareness, shared responsibility, and united action. Violence Against Women and Their Children refers to any act or series of acts by an intimate partner or any person with whom the woman has a relationship that results in physical, sexual, psychological, or economic harm. This is covered under Republic Act 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, which protects women and children from abuse and provides legal remedies such as protection orders and criminal charges against offenders.
During the program, Eastwoodiantes came together to show their commitment to protecting and empowering women and children. The event opened with heartfelt opening remarks from our TESDA Head, Ma'am Emerald Pascual, followed by an inspiring message from our Student Leader, William Dabu, who emphasized the importance of education, compassion, and collective effort in ending VAWC. Afterward, our OSA Head, Sir Laurence Mallari, led a meaningful pledging ceremony to strengthen our collective commitment.
To symbolize unity and support, participants were invited to place their signatures on a large tarpaulinโa pledge to stand against violence and uphold the rights, dignity, and safety of every woman and child. We extend our warmest gratitude to everyone who joined and helped make this initiative meaningful and impactful. Your voices, presence, and willingness to take part in this advocacy remind us that real change begins within our communities. Let us continue to speak up, take action, and protect those who need it most. Together, we can build a future where women and children live not in fear, but in empowerment.
