We kept this secret under wraps for as long as we could: surprise guest is officially joining the network for Hyphae Vol. 5! πŸ€«πŸ„

For more than a decade, he has been moving through Manila’s nightlife with a sound shaped by groove, soul, instinct, and curiosity. From intimate pubs around the city to rooms like Nokal, Apotheka, ###X, Black Market, and the now defunct TIME, every space seems to have left something in the way he plays.

His sets drift through house, disco, jazz, breaks, electro, funk, and hip hop without ever feeling rigid or overthought. There is always warmth in it somewhere; the kind that slowly pulls people closer to the floor.

Over the years, he has appeared at UNKNWN, Malasimbo, FΓͺte de la Musique, Danza Organika, Planet Workshop, and Wonderfruit in Thailand, while also bringing his sound through Hanoi, Osaka, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, and radio platforms across Seoul, Munich, Bali, and beyond. Along the way, he has shared rooms with names like Musclecars, Peach, Jojo Flores, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Phil Weeks, and Wax’o Paradiso.

Catch him at Hyphae, and feel what people mean when they say the groove is in the heart. πŸ•Ί

Reconnecting to the network… Saint Guel returns for Hyphae Vol. 5 πŸ„πŸš¨

Saint Guel, AKA Miguel Santiago, plays within the space of soul, funk, disco, and groovy house, carrying a warm, immediate energy from the moment he begins a set. Across spaces such as Wonderfruit, Equation Festival, Zhao Dai, Berghain Panorama Bar, and dancefloors in Manila, Berlin, Thailand, and Vietnam, his approach remains consistent: feel first, ego never, and let the music speak for itself.

In the studio, he focuses on creating music made for him to continue speaking to people in his favorite language: music. You hear it in releases on Fufu Records, More Rice Records, and Twelve Point Records, and now through his own label Manila Sound Records, which launches with MSR-001 On The Way EP alongside Junoy Manalo and Jason Dhakal, distributed by Subwax worldwide and also distributed directly by Miguel across Asia. Further pushing the local electronic music scene.

With all of this in motion, you can expect a dancefloor filled with smiles, good energy in the air, and nothing but good music from start to finish.

We’re thrilled to have Midnight Sun join Hyphae Vol. 5, a homegrown Davao quartet known for their long standing presence in the local jazz and live music circuit.

Composed of Charlie Badilla (piano), Joenix Acebuchi (bass), Noven Bravo (saxophone), and Terry Bacalso (drums), they bring years of shared experience and chemistry into every performance.

Expect jazz at its core, unfolding through improvisation and familiar classics reworked in real time.

With setting the stage, it becomes a true musical experience. 🎷πŸ₯

Two sides of the same record. Paolo Papica and JB Diaz started as bandmates, Paolo on bass and JB on rhythm guitar and vocals for Sapporo Snow. Somewhere along the way, between shared records and late nights, a DJ duo was born.

All vinyl. All instinct. Their sets pull from new wave, Motown, funk, disco, techno, hip hop, R&B, electro, deep house, rock, and indie and land somewhere you did not expect but suddenly cannot leave. Funky where it needs to be, weird where it wants to be, and always, somehow, exactly right for the room.

Chaos and charm in equal measure. Come find out what that feels like at Hyphae Vol. 5. πŸ„πŸŽΆπŸ•Ί

Davao’s own Topias and Rayyyon are linking up for the first time and if you know either of them you already know this is going to be something. Topias has been quietly building a reputation across the city for sets that move between deep house, Latin percussion, and the kind of late night selections that keep floors honest. Rayyyon operates differently, rave-led and techno-rooted, the sort of DJ whose energy you feel in your chest before the first drop even lands.

Put them together and you have a b2b that covers a lot of ground. Catch them bringing the dancefloor to life at the Garden Stage for Hyphae.

The day begins here.

Tatot opens the Garden Stage at Hyphae Vol. 5 with an ambient flute set shaped by stillness and space. Using flute and other instruments, he creates a performance that feels both moving and soothing, easing the room into motion as the day unfolds.

This is the calm before the storm, as the rest of the day unfolds into a multi sensory experience across the space.
