TITLE: PNWC 2025 Wraps Up with Awards, Raffle Prizes, and Iloilo 2027 Announcement

The Philippine Nursing World Congress 2025 drew to a close with a vibrant culmination of recognition, celebration, and a look toward the future. The final day featured the awarding of top research entries, raffle draws, and the much-anticipated announcement that PNWC 2027 will be held in Iloilo City—a proud moment met with cheers and anticipation.
More than just a change in venue, the announcement signaled a continued commitment to bringing the nursing community together across regions. Iloilo, often referred to as the “City of Love,” is known for its dynamic health institutions, rich culture, and heritage of excellence in nursing and public health. Delegates were thrilled by the announcement, as the city prepares to be the next stage for collaboration, innovation, and global nursing leadership.

The closing ceremony also honored the dedication of researchers whose work pushes the boundaries of nursing knowledge and practice. From ethical leadership and disaster risk management to simulation-based learning and community health, the awarded studies reflected the profession’s pursuit of excellence.
Raffle prizes of ₱5,000 were also given away to lucky participants, ending the congress on a joyful and celebratory note.

Day 2 of PNWC 2025 Highlights Global Collaboration, Filipino Excellence in Nursing

Davao City, Philippines – June 27, 2025 Day 2 of the Philippine Nursing World Congress 2025, held at the Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City, continued to showcase the vital role of Filipino nurses in shaping global healthcare, with powerful discussions, international collaborations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
The morning opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Pat Manalaysay, Lead Convenor, and Dr. Jerome Babate, Congress Manager. Both leaders emphasized the importance of building bridges across cultures and disciplines to elevate nursing care worldwide.
A sponsor presentation followed, setting the stage for a vibrant day of discourse and networking.

At 9:00 AM, articipants engaged in parallel sessions spotlighting innovation and research by Dr. Jed Montayre (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) delivered insights on “Innovating Nursing Practices and Research” through international partnerships. and Dr. Pearl Ed Cuevas, representing the Global Society of Philippine Nurse Researchers, Inc. (GSPPNRI), shared collaborative strategies in her presentation, “From Evidence to Excellence.” And Johannes Tolentino Hernandez discussed the lived experiences of Filipino nurses abroad, exploring educational preparation and cultural adaptation.

In the afternoon, Plenary Session 4 brought together leaders from across the globe to discuss “Filipino Nurses: Care Competencies, Challenges, and Their Significant Role in Global Health.”�Speakers included BON Leah Paquiz, EdD, RN (Philippines), Dr. Brian Vasquez, PhD, RN (KSA), and Dr. Jestoni Maniago, RN, DSN (Oman), moderated by Dr. Resty Tan, PhD, RN (Philippines). To close the day, Dr. Violeta Lopez, PhD, RN, FACN (Australia) delivered a compelling address titled “The Future of Global Healthcare: Envisioning a Culturally Competent Nursing Workforce.” Her talk challenged the next generation of nurses to embrace diversity, lead with empathy, and adapt to an ever-evolving global landscape.

TITLE: Research Poster Galleria and Oral Presenter Showcases Filipino Nurses’ Passion in Research and Innovation

The Research Poster Galleria and the oral presenters took center stage on Day 1 of the Philippine Nursing World Congress 2025. Featuring entries from both the student and professional categories, the exhibit reflected the deep passion of Filipino nurses to advancing the profession through research, inquiry, and innovation.

Additionally, it is more than just an academic exercise, the Research Poster Galleria was a platform for nurses and student nurses to present the studies they have poured their hearts and minds into , studies that respond to real-world challenges in healthcare. This was their moment to shine, to share the value of their work, and to celebrate the role of research in transforming care.

Throughout the day, congress attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with poster presenters—offering feedback, asking questions, and exchanging insights. This culture of mentorship and collaboration gave every research author, whether a student or a seasoned nurse, the space to be heard and celebrated.

The Research Poster Galleria and oral presentation was more than a competition—it was a testament to the intellectual spirit and forward-thinking vision of Filipino nurses. It affirmed that nursing is not only a profession of care but also a discipline grounded in evidence, scholarship, and a relentless pursuit of better ways to serve humanity.

TITLE: Global Filipino Leaders' Night Celebrates Fellowship, and Leadership in Nursing

Fresh from a full day of sessions at the Grand Menseng Hotel, nursing leaders and delegates of the Philippine Nursing World Congress 2025 gathered at 6:30 PM for a festive and heartwarming Global Filipino Leaders' Night held at Yellow Fin Seafood Restaurant.

The evening brought together nursing leaders from across the Philippines and around the world for a cultural appreciation, and authentic local hospitality. Guests enjoyed a flavorful spread of Davao’s finest seafood, along with beloved regional delicacies such as durian juice, pomelo, and langka, making the dinner a true celebration of Filipino culture.

While guests dined, Congress Manager Jerome Babate, PhD, RN, officially welcomed everyone, expressing his gratitude for their presence and continued support for the congress.

The night also featured an inspiring message from Ian Mariano, RMT, Sub-regional Secretary for Southeast Asia of Public Services International (PSI), who emphasized the collective power of healthcare workers in building stronger, more equitable public service systems across the globe.

Day 1 of Nursing World Congress 2025 Spotlights Culture, Technology, and Community Care.

Still in the morning, Panel Discussion 1, “Care Culture: Narratives of Filipino Nurses Elevating Standards,” brought together experienced nurse leaders who shared personal and professional stories of overcoming challenges, leading with compassion, and upholding high standards of care. In the afternoon, Plenary Session 2 featured Dr. Rozzano Locsin, RN, PhD, FAAN—a respected Filipino nursing theorist—who delivered a thought-provoking talk titled “Leveraging Technology to Bridge Cultural Gaps in Healthcare.” He explored how innovation and empathy must go hand in hand to meet the needs of patients across cultures.

Panel Discussion 2, “Trust and Nursing: Connecting Compassion and Technology,” explained the role of trust in healthcare and how nurses can navigate the balance between advancing technologies and maintaining the human touch in patient care. Before the day closed, delegates attended a Special Session on “Physical Rehabilitation of Persons with Psychiatric Problems,” which emphasized the crucial integration of physical rehabilitation in mental health care. The session highlighted the importance of a holistic approach in restoring functionality, dignity, and wellness.

Day 1 of Nursing World Congress 2025 Spotlights Culture, Technology, and Community Care.

Davao City, Philippines — The Philippine Nursing World Congress 2025 launched its first full day at the Grand Menseng Hotel, Davao City with a series of sessions highlighting the global influence of Filipino nurses, the power of cultural competence, and the future of healthcare innovation. With the theme “Bridging Cultures, Elevating Care: The Global Impact of Filipino Nurses,” the event brought together over 330 participants from across the Philippines and around the world—including nurses, nurse leaders from global institutions, deans from various nursing schools nationwide, and students from different universities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao

Opening the day was a powerful keynote address by Dr. Edna Magpantay, RN, EdD, APRN, CMDCP (USA), titled “Global Bridges of Care: The Pioneering Role of Filipino Nurses.” Her talk paid tribute to the vital role Filipino nurses play across the world in shaping patient outcomes, and strengthening global health systems. Following the keynote was Plenary Session 1 led by Dr. James Montegrico, RN, PhD, CMSRN. In his presentation, “Cultural Intelligence in Nursing: Enhancing Patient Interaction and Care,” he emphasized how developing cultural sensitivity improves the quality of care between patients and healthcare providers.
