Today we celebrate St. James, son of Zebedee, one of the Twelve Apostles and the first among them to offer witness by martyrdom. Called from the shores of Galilee, he traveled far to plant the seeds of the Gospel, teaching us that to follow Christ is to walk the road faithfully, even when it leads to difficulty. He is the patron of pilgrims and all who journey in faith; may his example strengthen us to take up our cross each day and follow the Lord without turning back.
