I wasn't expecting a 3-minute news segment to completely change what I plan to do next.
Yesterday, I turned on the TV just to check the latest updates about Bagyong Inday and Habagat.
As expected, the news was heartbreaking.
One story after another...
Some people drowned, died.
Families affected.
Homes damaged.
Lives turned upside down.
This is exactly why I rarely watch the news. It can be emotionally draining. But I still believe it's important to know what's happening around us.
Then, one headline suddenly caught my attention more.
"PSA: Pagbaba ng kasalan at pagdami ng live-in sa Pilipinas."
I stopped scrolling. I listened.
According to the report, more Filipino couples are choosing to live together instead of getting married.
The main reason?

That one sentence stayed with me.
Because after talking to many engaged couples over the years, I've realized something...
Most of them don't actually give up on their dream of a Catholic church wedding because they don't want one.
They give up because they believe it's too expensive, too complicated, or full of impossible requirements.

At that moment, I knew I couldn't just watch the news and move on.
