Working on a dinner party theme and craving something new and original? Take it from our Creative Director, Steven "Steve" Sasam — sometimes the best way forward is to look back and give it your own unique twist.

Take this Hacienda-Themed Wedding Tablescape, which earned double Gold at the Cebu Goes Culinary 2010 Table Setting Competition.

It all began with a simple concept: Filipiniana Weddings. From there, Steve explored Spanish influences — from architecture to romance — and narrowed in on the idea of the Hacienda. Think intricate gates, rustic textures, and heritage charm. The result? A story-rich setting that turned heads and won gold.

When designing with a theme, start with your story — your point of view. Let that lead the way. Stay focused. Edit with intention. The magic is in the details.

Designed by Green Concepts and Events and brought to life by KayDay Cakes, this custom centerpiece showcased Cebu’s pride — the Lapu-Lapu monument, CCLEX bridge, mangoes, lechon, puso, the Sinulog Festival Queen, and Ascendion’s AIDA robot mascot joyfully joining the celebration.
