Photo Contest Mechanics
1. This contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers duly registered, 18 years of age and above.
2. Official Entry forms are available online through the Dancesport Team Cebu City or the Cebu Photo Works! pages. Send your filled up entry forms to [email protected] for confirmation of registration.
3. The registration fee is THREE HUNDRED FIFTY (P350.00) per registrant. Payment is through GCASH at 09175912822.
4. The Photo Contest Theme is โGRACE IN MOTIONโ:
- Capture the couple as they effortlessly and gracefully sashay across the dance floor during their performance.
A maximum of Ten (10) photos may be submitted by each registrant. All photos should be taken during โThe Cebu World Dancesport Federation (WSDF) Adult Open Latin and Standard and PDSF 3rd Quarter Ranking Competition 2023โ in the Cebu City Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Lahug Cebu on September 30, 2023.
Contest Guidelines:
a. No flash photography is permitted at the periphery of the dance floor at all times;
b. Photographers must observe non-entry and must not impede access and/or flow to the following restricted zones:
(a) Dance Floor;
(b) Dressing Room;
(c) Dining Area;
(d) Scrutineerโs Area;
(e) Adjudicatorsโ/Presidential Table on stage
Failure to observe non-entry to the above listed restricted zones will result in the automatic disqualification of the erring photographer from the photo contest.
c. All images submitted must be in full color.
d. All entries must be candid and un-posed. Photographers are also prohibited from calling the attention of and from interrupting the participants while they are performing on the dance floor.
e. Final printed entries shall be submitted in a 5โx7โ Photo Print without borders with the photographerโs cellphone number ONLY, as indicated on the registration form, written at the back of the photo. Entries should be placed inside an envelope with the photographerโs full name and cellphone number prominently written on the envelope. The original unedited JPEG file and edited JPEG file of the image/s is to be submitted via either of the following options: USB/flashdrive or Google drive/Dropbox/WeTransfer digital link. For digital transmission of photo files, please send to [email protected]. Digital files sent beyond the deadline indicated shall not be accepted and shall be deemed disqualified.
5. Cropped photos are allowed. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, sharpening, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents are acceptable. Composite images and digital alteration like adding/removing of any part of the image are disallowed. If the judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.
6. Criteria for Judging:
30% - Relevance to the Category Theme
30% - Composition๏ฟฝ
25% - Quality of Image (sharpness/exposure/lighting/artistic interpretation) 15% - Creativity/Originality
7. Deadline for submission of entries will be on October 5, 2023 at the Dancesport Team Cebu City Office at the Cebu City Sports Complex, Jones Ave., Cebu City with Tel. No. +6332-5208839/09423987513. The winners will be notified through text/pm for the awarding ceremony.
8. Identifying marks, signs and address to insinuate information of ownership is strictly prohibited on the photo entry.
9. The top 5 finalists shall be selected among all entries and shall be the basis for selecting the top 3 photos.
10. By joining this contest, winners and finalists agree that the royalty of the photographer shall not apply every time the Dancesport Team Cebu City (DTCC) will use the photos and grants DTCC royalty-free, world-wide, exclusive license to display and reproduce the photo/s for promotional purposes. Rights to the winning entries shall belong exclusively to DTCC. The photographer may not use the photographs or variation of that same composition for any other purpose except for his personal portfolio. Photographers will be given photo credits every time applicable.
