It’s been a week since we said “I DO” 💍 and oh my, I still can’t believe that I planned and curated every single detail (literally everything) for our wedding 🥹
As they say, less is more ✨—and we truly felt that on our wedding day.
1. INVITES – We carefully chose the people we wanted to celebrate and witness our union. This part was very important (and not easy). We agreed on 40 guests—the people we’ve spent the most time with, who have supported our relationship, and who we know will continue to matter long after the wedding.
2. PASTOR – We prayed for the right officiator, and we’re so grateful to have found a pastor who not only shared the Word of God but also reminded us of the true meaning of marriage. We know he will continue to guide us as we grow together 🥹.
3. VENUE – We wanted an elopement-style wedding: intimate, natural, and very “Zoa & Kerry.” Alhibe Farm was the perfect choice. Tucked away in the middle of (almost) nowhere, it was peaceful, eco-friendly, and true to our vision. The flowers, ingredients, and spices they used all came from their own farm 🥰.
4. DECORATIONS – I didn’t want anything extra—just a homey, cozy, and chill vibe. I gave Alhibe my mood board:
• Ceremony chairs arranged simply (we even changed the altar setup last minute for a longer aisle).
• A simple arch with white fabric as the backdrop and entrance.
• Reception tables decorated with greens, white accents, and a line of LED candles.
• Flowing tablecloths, subtle cutlery details, and wooden chairs.
• No sounds & lights supplier—we only used the venue’s garden lights.
• No LED wall—I asked Alhibe to DIY a screen by forming an arch from unused tree trunks. It turned out perfectly, especially with the bonfire 🥹.
5. CAKE, COCKTAILS&BAR- we all know my momma is a baker, my dzad makes the best concoction of cocktails, and, both of them are very creative/artsy in arranging our wide spread of pica2 for our guests
6. PROGRAM – We had no formal program 🤣. After cocktail hour, we gathered everyone, lit sparklers, and made our couple’s entrance with Mirmah playing the violin in the background. Pure magic ✨.
We also prepared a little activity for our guests: we bought small wooden logs and paint, and asked everyone to “paint a memory of us”. My baninins and the girlies even surprised us with heartfelt message cards for the guests (I love my girls so much 🥹).
Everyone genuinely enjoyed the night. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and conversation, with only the crickets as background music. It was simple, intentional, and so magical.
