From paper dolls to living mannequins, how young fashion designer extraordinaire HANZ COQUILLA conquered the world with one couture dress at a time. UNBRIDLED PASSION:
Brimming with a fervently desire to carve a name for himself in the world of fashion designing. Hanz quit school at 18 and followed his only passion which is fashion. Self-taught and driven to learn, he served as freelance assistant
to local designers in Cebu. Hanz joined his first professional designing competition, the Cebu Young Designer's Competition in 2005. It was his second competition though that brought him to higher ground and made him an instant household name. Joining the TV show Project Runway Philippines Season 2 in 2009 made him ascertain where his real strengths are when he won three major challenges in the show: bridal, Avant-garde and futurism. He later on also joined the Mega Young Designer's Competition in 2011 and Look of Style Awards in 2012. UNSTOPPABLE:
Several competitions, magazines spreads and newspaper features after, (not to mention the high profile clientele base established). Hanz Coquilla has emerged with his distinct fashion statement-fashion forward, brave, experimental but maintaining femininity and class. The Hanz Coquilla high fashion label was born. FUTURE PERFECT:
This intrepid designer is just starting and is not stopping anytime. Plans in the offing include opening a couture shop, creating an RTW line and to go global. The world is set to be Hanz's oyster as he take steps to invade the international scene. Coupled with his resiliency to never stop learning, always experimenting and taking risks, this goal is easily within reach.
