On May 29, 2026, the Talisay City Jail โ Female Dormitory, under the leadership of JCINSP MARICEL MIJARES, successfully held the event entitled โRunway for Change: A Fashion Show for a Causeโ at Talisay City Plaza.
The event served as a meaningful platform to showcase the creativity, talents, and skills of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), highlighting the transformative impact of the facilityโs rehabilitation and livelihood programs. Featured collections included the Tri-Bureau Uniforms (BJMP, PNP, and BFP), Crocheted Collections handcrafted by PDLs, Casual Wear from Perfect Selections Boutique worn by the Queen Mother Organization complemented by PDL-made bag designs, CSWD sector presentations in advocacy-inspired and fantasy attire, and elegant Tuxedos and Gowns from Perfect Selections worn by all participating models. Each segment reflected dignity, empowerment, and the journey toward positive transformation.
The program was further enriched by inspirational messages from esteemed community leaders; JSUPT ELSIE EIREEN R ALCOMENDRAS, Chief, RWDD and Hon. Danilo Caballero, City Councilor. A heartfelt presentation from the beneficiaryโOur Lady of Divine Providence Home with the newly installed center director Sr. Delia Abadaโalong with captivating performances from guest entertainers. The event was made more impactful through the unwavering support of sponsors, partners, stakeholders, and volunteers who shared in its vision of hope and social transformation.
Most importantly, the activity successfully generated funds which will be allocated to sustain the needs and welfare of the beneficiaries which is the Our Lady of Divine Providence Home and the children of the PDL of Talisay City Jail โ FD. The success of this fundraising activity reflects the strong collaboration and support of government agencies, private organizations, community partners, and individuals who share the common goal of promoting rehabilitation, empowerment, and positive transformation among PDLs.
