A cascade of gold filigree and crystalline accents add a three-dimensional, wing-like texture to the shoulders and hips. A sheer, n**e base adorned with a delicate lattice of pearls and shimmering droplets for that ethereal effect best describes the skirt that is an artwork in itself. Quoting the words of Gustavo Santaolalla, "you gave me the wings to fly," this gown takes fashion to greater heights with wing appliquès made more breathing with a variety of beads, sequins and crystals. The silhouette cinches the waist in construction that defies technique and ornamentation that exceeds expectation. Like a glitch in the matrix, this confection in arresting hues of blue also has a shoulder cape of the lighest, dreamiest chiffon that sways with every step.

If Christmas were about intricate details, symmetry and rich hues, then this gown of Christmas-y proportions definitely fits the bill. As if clinging to the skin, a bustier with extended details that protrude in all directions, all made entirely by hand, in shapes of leaves and petals, take beading and stoning to a whole new level. Rows of beads frame the silhouette of the bodice before flowing onto a columnar skirt of glass rhinestone details in a geometric pattern. The verdant hue of pine trees adorned with opulent golden ornaments is a common sight to behold during the holiday season, and this gown channels just that. Over illusion mesh, a bustier with asymmetric detailing of rhinestones and 3d appliqués of beads painstakingly sewn piece by piece sets the tone for festive cheer, darting to a gradient skirt of fringe beads also in green and gold. This gown is definitely home for the holidays.

Fire is one of man’s greatest discoveries and it has been a source of inspiration for his art. Its warmth and color have always given birth to some of his most remarkable creations. This gown takes cue from fire’s enigma – over an illusion corset, an asymmetrical bustier of linear beadwork, with 3d flame details of embroidered, beaded lace in red and gold hug the bodice as if engulfing the silhouette before creeping onto a dense skirt of beaded, sequined and bejeweled column.

A structured, sweetheart-style bust in shimmering silver, giving the look of a bustier with paneling details, enhancing the cinched bodice silhouette; a high neckline of sheer, illusion fabric which extends into long, fitted sleeves both heavily adorned with scattered crystal embellishments that trail down the arms, giving a look of gemstones dotting the skin. From cool silver to rich, warm gold, a stunning ombré of fringe bead details unapologetically fall down to the floor to complete a flapper-1920’s-meets-the-future final gown for Miss Universe Malta in this year’s edition of the pageant.
