In today's high-tech era, many people think DJing is easy. But what you see on stage is only a small part of the work.
My style is different. Since I only perform once a month, every set is carefully crafted,not thrown together.
It all starts during long drives, where I spend hours listening to different genres and discovering tracks. That's where my first playlist is born.
Next, I purchase and download high-quality tracks from my Record Pool subscription. Then comes the real work inside Rekordbox rebuilding the playlist, arranging the energy, setting cue points, and deciding which track opens the journey, which ones build the emotion, and which one leaves a lasting memory.
Hours of preparation go into a performance that lasts only a few hours. Most people never see that part.
So the next time you ask a DJ to perform, remember that you're not just paying for the hours behind the decks, you're valuing the countless hours spent preparing the experience you'll enjoy.
