JUST IN: Air India, India’s leading global airline, has announced the launch of non-stop flights between Delhi and Manila starting 01 October 2025, making it the only carrier to operate direct flights between the two countries. Operating five times a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, using Airbus A321neo aircraft with Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins, the service is expected to strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural ties. The route's launch coincides with the Philippines’ recent move to allow visa-free entry for Indian tourists for up to 14 days, enhancing accessibility to destinations like Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu. Air India CEO & MD Campbell Wilson emphasized that the new route supports India's growing outbound travel and highlights Indian tourists' increasing global spending power. He added that the airline is proud to connect India and the Philippines directly, fostering economic collaboration and cultural exchange. With its 7,000+ islands and rich blend of cultural and modern experiences, the Philippines presents strong tourism appeal for Indian travellers. The new flights also bolster growing bilateral trade, which reached US$3.53 billion in 2023–24, nearly double the 2015–16 figure, and offer convenient one-stop access to Manila from Europe via Air India’s Delhi hub.
