The Wedding Entourage

These selected individuals are called upon to fulfill a special role and responsibility in your wedding.

Principal Sponsors
Their primary role is to serve as legal witness on your special day. Select individuals or couples who would be able to give the support and advice you would need to grow your marriage .

Best Man
This role is usually given to the brother or best friend of the groom. Aside from attending to the needs of the groom, he is in charge of the Bachelor Party, handles the wedding ring and gives out a speech during the reception.

Maid of Honor
She is someone the bride can fully trust in assisting her in the wedding preparation. She is usually sought out to assist in the dress selection and trial make-up. She is also responsible to organize the Bridal Shower and called to give a speech during the reception.

Groomsmen and Bridesmaid
They are selected among the array of close friends and family. There is no limit to their number but they should be equal. They serve as attendants who will be responsible in ushering and receiving the guests in the ceremony and reception.

Secondary Sponsors
These three pairs are the one who will carry the symbolic gestures of your wedding – the veil, the cord and the candle.

Bearers
These could be assigned to young boys (we highly advise to select boys aged 8 years old and above). They are to carry the symbolic items like the ring, Bible and arrhae.

Flower Girls
They are the ones assigned to shower the aisle with flowers before the Bride. It is highly advised that you choose girls age 4 years old and above.

Wedding Essential Checklist

Now that you have marked the special date for your wedding and have set your budget, here are the wedding essentials you need to book immediately :

A. Venue
Book your venue early to ensure its availability. Pick one that will be suitable and accessible to your expected guests. Consider also if they have an accommodation for your guest, in-house catering, sufficient parking space , equipment and facilities .

B. Caterers
If your venue has no in-house caterer, search for existing caterers within your area. Ask for proposed menu packages and its inclusions. Read reviews regarding them. If possible, request for a food tasting.

C. Photographer and Videographer
Look for reviews and recommendations. Set up interviews with at least 2 – 3 potential contacts. Get to know them and see if you could comfortably work with them. Ask for sample products and outputs.

D. Planner
Find one who shares your values and understand your vision for your wedding. Get reference from the previous work of the planner you are considering. They should be responsive to your email, text and call. Remember, you are hiring one to help lessen the stress of the preparation and give you peace of mind.

E. Florist
Make a visual presentation of the type of wedding you would like to have. Check on the previous florist hired by your friends and family. Make sure to discuss on your working budget.

F. Invitation
It will be a reflection of who you are as a couple. It could be a fun project you can do on your own or simply hire a professional help,. Make sure to include important details such as the wedding date, time and venue. It should also include the names of the couple and their respective parents and wedding entourage. Invitations should be sent at least one to two months prior to inform your guests earlier.

Celebrating your Engagement!

Now that he has finally popped the question and you have given your sweet yes, what’s next …

1. Let it be known - Engagement is a celebration that is worth sharing to the people who are very close and important to you. It is best to share it by personally calling and informing them about the wonderful news than just simply announcing it through social media.

2. Set the Limit - It is important to discuss your budget before your move forward in planning. It will enable you to focus on what is necessary and determine what you are more comfortable in spending. This will also help you determine the number of guests you will be inviting. And important note in making a guest list, prioritize in inviting people who will be an important part of your future as a couple.

3. Save the Date - Determining the D-Day early on will avoid unnecessary conflicts in the end. Consider the availability of the guests you want to be part of your wedding. Your date will also coincide with your wedding venue and the availability of your suppliers.

4. Get Inspired - Your wedding should be a reflection of your personality. Collect ideas through wedding magazines and channels. Create a file of inspirational ideas and elements you may have gathered from Pinterest and Instagram.

5. To hire or not to hire - Wedding preparation can be a stressful and tiring process. Review the items in your checklist that you can handle alone. And for those ideas that could be stress-inducing and time-consuming, hiring a Wedding Coordinator could be the best deal. In booking a professional planner, ask around for references. Make a research on your potential planner and set up some interviews. A wedding planner may be an extra cost but they can give you insights and assistance that are truly valuable!

What is a Pre-Nuptial Shoot?

It is also know as Pre-Wedding Shoot or an Engagement Shoot taken prior to the couple's wedding day.

We encourage couples to have one so that they can establish a close relationship with their photographer. It will also help the couple know the creativity and ability of their photographer, while the photographer gets to engage the couple and know them more personally.
