Luxe Mercantile started as a graphic design studio, but it eventually turned into a party needs shop by accident. During the pandemic, I decorated my daughter’s 18th birthday, and afterward, I decided to sell the leftover decorations. To my surprise, people started asking for more party supplies—one item after another—so I kept buying more products to sell. It seemed like many people enjoyed decorating, just like I did for my daughter's birthday. While running the shop, customers constantly asked if we offered event styling. Around the same time, I had a friend who was doing small-scale event styling. I asked if she could assist me or work with her, and one day, we got the chance to work together with an event. Later, another client came along, but my friend was unavailable due to her own event, so I had no choice but to do it myself. That was the first time my daughter and I styled an event on our own. It wasn’t perfect—not as polished as our work today—but it was a good start. From that moment on, we kept going. Over time, the demand grew, and we got so busy that I had to hire more people and stylists to keep up with our events. And now, in a full-circle moment, I’m working alongside the very friend who introduced me to event styling—only this time, she’s part of our team.
