Now that the wedding season is well underway and booking is ongoing- we noticed we have no April weddings scheduled! Which reminded us of this iconic Papillon team collaboration: the April wedding flowers for one of our own florists, , and these absolutely breathtaking pictures by , another one of our florists.

To be transparent, we’d be lying if we said winter isn’t a difficult time for us. As well as being, in general, a lesser inspiring time for flowers, we’ve also been dealing with low numbers, an odd influx of difficult customers (winter makes people cranky- it’s the only explanation), and straight up being ghosted by prospective clients after putting in time/energy curating proposals and providing insight/information. Plus, the state of the world right now leaves room for a lot of uncertainty when spending hard earned money on a perishable product, and that too is not lost on us.

None of these problems are unique to us, or even unique to florists. We aren’t getting picked on. But some days it’s just harder than others to create. Sometimes trying to maximize the artistry of floristry stands in stark contrast to the problem of “well, we still need to make money!”

All that being said, at Papillon we have no interest in making compromises to our commitment to furthering our personal growth or providing people with beauty. We hope you all are surviving this winter as best you can as well.

We will be discussing sustainability practices in floristry, helpful tips and tricks for maximizing the longevity of florals in the home, and structuring a simple yet magical arrangement full of spring splendor.

No prior experience required; in fact, we love teaching beginners best. They possess a sort of quiet magic that always ends up inspiring us in turn. 🌷🌼🪻
