Latest press conference report for today :-
The President of Panama announced a full LOCKDOWN as of 0501 hours March 25th and until further notice.
People able to travel from home to work and vise versa only if holding a valid Safe Conduct Pass.
For the rest that do not have a Safe Conduct Pass will only be able to stay on the streets for no more than 2 hours and subject to the last
digit/number of the personnal ID or passport. This is only for people to travel from home to supermarkets or drug stores to buy provisions
or medicines and back home.
Sanitary Geographic fencing is in effect and until further notice (transit restrictions in Panama City, The West side of Panama City, Colon, Los Santos,
Herrera, Guabala and Vigui).
Per Presidential decree since March 20th was ordered the closure in all the Republic of Panama for all stores, offices, shopping malls and other business
(except for supermarkes, banks, construction/hardware stores, hospitals, gas stations, logistics, transportation, all maritime operations and other
specific businesses). This is for a period of 30 days.
As of 2359 hours March 22nd all International flights From/To Panama are suspended for a period of 30 days. Only authorized flights
will be Cargo and Humanitarian flights. Domestic flights also suspended.
Pleasure and commertial yachts will be allowed to arrive Panama to transit the Panama Canal. They must remain anchored waiting their turn to commence
Canal transit (present delays for unbooked vessels about 2 to 3 days). Yachts will not be allowed to enter any marina or dock and the use of the tender is
not authorized. We can arrange fuel by barge at the explosives anchorage and if provisions/medicines are required we can arrange by hiring a commertial launch.
We are not stamping passports IN or OUT and we are not issuing new Port Clearance from Panama. The last Port clearance has to be issued from the last
port directly to the next port after sailing Panama. The cost of commertial launch US$ 400.00 per trip.
We will need to receive a copy of boat registry, copy of last por clearance, copy of all passports, next port after sailing Panama and very important to complete
enclosed forms 96 hours prior arrival specially crew list and details (country/date) where joined. To avoid the noncompliance and Panama Canal transit delays
we must receive the Eta and all required information 96 hours or before.
Security Level 2 is in effect as 0300 hours on March 23rd in all Commertial terminals on the Atlantic Side.
The Panama Canal Authority announced that as March 23rd and until April 6th they will not transit boats less than 65 feet in length. This suspension
can be extended if deem necessary by the Canal.
